The framework

15 Officer Like Qualities. Four factors.

Every Services Selection Board — IO, GTO and Psychologist — assesses the same 15 qualities. Know exactly what each one means, where it is tested, and which of your assessments builds evidence for it.

Assess my OLQ profile

Factor I

Planning & Organising

thinking wali qualities

How clearly you understand a problem, reason through it, arrange resources against it, and say it in words others can act on.

What the assessor looks for

Practical problem-solving in unfamiliar, resource-short situations — not bookish knowledge.

Where it is tested

GTO tasks, Situation Reaction Test, interview probes

How we assess it

Situational-response scoring in Personality Screening rates how you convert limited information into a workable plan.

Factor II

Social Adjustment

team player wali qualities

How well you fit into a group of strangers, pull with them rather than against them, and own the outcome.

What the assessor looks for

Adjusting easily to different people, ranks, backgrounds and changing conditions.

Where it is tested

Group Tasks, Interview, conference impressions

How we assess it

Adaptability coefficient and social-energy profile from Personality Screening and Group Behaviour.

Factor III

Social Effectiveness

leadership wali qualities

Whether the group actually moves when you speak — initiative, confidence, quick calls, influence and infectious energy.

What the assessor looks for

Starting the right action first, without being told, and sustaining it.

Where it is tested

PGT, Command Task, Individual Obstacles

How we assess it

Drive-pattern and action indicators in Personality Screening; ambition mapping in Handwriting.

Factor IV

Dynamic

mental-physical toughness wali qualities — never-say-die

The pressure factor: sticking to the aim, accepting risk, and lasting the distance physically and mentally.

What the assessor looks for

Sustained effort towards the aim despite obstacles and repeated failure.

Where it is tested

Individual Obstacles, Command Task, Interview history

How we assess it

Emotional-resilience index and discipline architecture across Personality Screening and Handwriting.

Coverage check

Every assessment here, mapped to the OLQ framework.

Nothing was removed. Each module was checked against the 15 qualities and repositioned for board preparation.

Personality Screening

Core to SSB prep

Acts as your baseline personality screening — mirrors what the psychologist infers from TAT/WAT/SRT responses, and feeds 12 of the 15 OLQs.

Open assessment

Handwriting (Graphology)

Core to SSB prep

Written work is central at SSB. Graphology surfaces discipline, honesty, expression and resilience — Factor I and Factor IV signals.

Open assessment

Service Fit

Useful — repositioned

Reframed as Service Fit: which arm/branch and entry route matches your OLQ profile, and where your effective intelligence is strongest.

Open assessment

Group Behaviour

Useful — repositioned

Reframed as Group Behaviour: cooperation, conflict style and responsibility under group pressure — exactly Factor II.

Open assessment

Peer Compatibility

Useful — repositioned

Reframed as Peer Compatibility: how you and a study partner or group member will actually behave together in GD and group tasks.
